Lucy the Gorilla was planned to be a playable character in C2: Judgement Clay, but was cut for unknown reasons. She was to be the second female in the game along with Kangoo and the fourth animal character along with Kangoo, octohead and Hoppy.

About the character[]

It was initially believed that she was replaced by Tiny, whose sprites are imported and unmodified from the original game. However, the 1995 announcment trailer for the game clearly shows footage of her in a battle against Tiny, which disproves the rumor. In the trailer, Lucy is only shown using one punch attack, implying she was not as far into development as the other characters showcased.

Trivia[]

Lucy shares a coincidence with another scrapped character, Hobo Cop, in which it was believed she was discarded to be replaced for other character, Tiny in her case and Earthworm Jim with Hobo Cop. In both cases, this theory was discarded, since Tiny was seen fighting against Lucy in some screenshots, as well Jim was revealed that was planned before Hobo Cop was discarded.
It is known that the idea of evil clone characters was made during the production, so if Lucy would see the light, it's speculated that she also would get an evil clone.
In the 1995 trailer, the shown characters only have their basic moves and just punches and kicks and no special moves. Saying this, it's unknown which specials Lucy could have since only were shown her basic moves there.
